KHT - Korean Hand Acupuncture

KHT was developed by Dr Tae Woo Yu in Korea in the 1970s. Similarly to auricular acupuncture, it can be described as a micro-system treatment, this time with the body being mapped out on the surfaces of the hand, both back and front.

Actually KHT is more developed than this: in fact the entire meridian system can be accessed though the hand so any of the theories of traditional acupuncture can been used with great effect and extremely creatively. Similarly to auricular acupuncture, this can help target treatment, but it can also be used to develop innovative treatments when it is difficult to access parts of the body for general acupuncture (withpatients in wheelchairs for instance).

Treatment is generally with needles, or with small metallic plates taped to the skin, or with moxa.
